Demonstration of Clearing a UB
I recently worked with Robyn Dickson, a senior staff member at IFSCA, to clear a UB that she had discovered during an advanced training she was doing with Dick Schwartz.
Robyn has very kindly allowed this session to be recorded and made available for viewing.
Consultation Groups
Small groups with bi-weekly one-hour sessions over 3 months. Each participant has a session devoted to their interest; doing a demo with Bob, consulting about a difficult client, or having Bob supervise them as they work with another participant, or a client.
For people with at least a level 1 or equivalent IFS experience. Subscribe for updates.

I rarely work with individual clients, though I very much enjoy consulting sessions with a therapist and their client together, when it’s believed that there’s an Unattached Burden present.
For most of my career, I focused on consulting with men who were sexually abused as children as this is my own history.
Now I’m semi-retired and focusing most of my attention on writing my next books. When not writing or editing, I focus on running consultation groups and teaching IFS, with a focus on the connection between spirituality and healing and Unattached Burdens and Guides.
I also am passionate about helping to train people in the IFS model, doing what I can to help them learn it thoroughly. I want to see it used outside of psychotherapy.

Client & Therapist Sessions
Probably Bob’s favorite ways of working with IFS. When the therapist feels stuck with a certain issue with a client Bob works with them both. This is especially useful with Unattached Burdens. The additional benefit is that the therapist experiences the IFS techniques while Bob works with the client.
Individual Sessions
Individual consultations are only for people who are working with a therapist regularly, and who are doing deep inner work already and feel stuck or need a fresh perspective. Many sessions involve mourning IFS and therapist parts.
Bob does not consult with clients on a regular weekly basis.
Supervision Sessions
Consultation sessions usually involve working with the parts of the therapist who are triggered by their clients.
These sessions often look more like standard one-on-one session, rather than didactic supervision.
“Bob brings a wealth of knowledge to his teaching and his mastery is most evident in his deep and nuanced understanding of the clinical applications of IFS to the complex areas of trauma and spirituality. Indeed, my appreciation of IFS is expanded with every experience with Bob.
“On a personal level, he is an exceptionally real, kind, and humorous individual. Both his teaching and sharing are compelling and moving.”
Barney Jordan, PhD. IFS therapist, currently a counselor at the University of the Pacific; Served on the clinical faculty of Harvard Medical School, and taught mindfulness meditation at MIT for 10 years. Practicing at the interface of spirituality and psychotherapy for more than 30 years.
“Over the many years I have known Bob, he has relentlessly pursued continued depth and versatility with IFS. Bob’s talent for teaching and working in the IFS model is informed by his passion for his own parts and the healing and growth he has experienced. All of this is supported by his strong and ever-growing spiritual foundation.
“I have personally witnessed Bob engage a wide variety of learners with IFS. I recommend him as a consultant, teacher, coach, and therapist for anyone interested in learning or deepening their IFS skills.”
